5/10/2011: Day 58
Day 58. Plyo was on the schedule but I really want to rest my knees. I wanted to do a bike ride for the first time in years but the weather was not so great and I got home late. I did my original plan which was the elliptical. Pre p90x/insanity I struggled to do 20 minutes and 200 calorie burn. Tonight I set a goal and pushed really hard to complete it. 60 minutes and roughly 750 calorie burn! I even sprinted the last minute. I maintained a HR of roughly 160-170 throughout most of the 60 minutes. I kept hearing Tony and Shaun T in my head. "If your not going to bring it, why bother?" "You can do the same thing with your body".
An added bonus was that my knees actually felt better after the workout, I wonder if the tendons are just tight rather than sore.
KPP and spread the good word about TBB!!

Day 59:
Shoulders and arms. One of my favorite workouts of the whole series. Probably because I can do every single move. I used slightly lower weights as I feel like I want to focus on toning the muscle that I have built.
I was a little weaker to than I expected. I ate well today but then realized that I got no sleep last night. I only had 6 hours to sleep and I tossed and turned the whole night. Then it was a long day at work, I got a flat tire and had to drive 50 more miles than planned to change cars. By the time ab ripper rolled around, I just did not have the energy :(

Day 60: 30 Days Left!!!!
Yoga X tonight. Just what the doctor ordered for a tired, stiff stressed out body. Getting better every session with the half moon pose and crane. Balance was good tonight. I have a really crappy Yoga mat, maybe I will splurge for a new one ;)
Day 61 and 62:
Legs and Back/Ab Ripper done tonight. Had to switch this and kenpo due to not getting home until late last night. Actually when I say Kenpo I really mean Insanity program. I still use the shorter length workout if short on time and or energy.
I got the bikes out for the first time in years (used to be an avid road and mountain biker including racing and downhill racing. I took just a test run on each bike and was happy with my energy level and endurance. Thank you P90X! So I burned about 300 calories doing that.
Anyway, I used to HR monitor for the first time on a strength day and was surprised to burn over 800 calories. I plugged the average HR and time into a web calculator which was pretty close to the monitor calculation. I also did monster moves on Ab Ripper. Did 355 moves including 55 mason twists!
I took my super vitamins which is basically shakeology in a pill just a couple hours before the workout and I think that was the difference. And I still feel good!
Time for the real deal, chocolate shakeology. I am hooked on it :P
Day 65:
Plyo was on the books for today but I usually opt for a more intense/shorter workout usually Insanity.
Today I did Insanity Fast and Furious for the first time ever AND then I did Turbo Fire FIIT 15! Oh baby!
I sucked at the Insanity maybe because I had a 450 calorie piece of cheesecake beforehand. Its my birthday and my husband can't just buy a little fluffy cake! I did OK on the turbofire but was a little uncoordinated. I have never done one of her workouts before. By the end I was getting it better.
I did not think I would like turbo but I found that my heart rate got higher and stayed higher longer because the intervals were shorter in duration.
Ended up burning 650 calories in 35 minutes
I am going to have to take a look at the whole program for my post p90x plan.
KKP everyone! Joann. :)
Accountability: Day 67
Did p90x back and biceps. I pushed really hard tonight. I am trying to really maximize my efforts in the last phase.
If you not going to "bring it" why bother???
I did lighten my weights but really increased the reps. Though I am selling tickets to the "gun show" I think my biceps are big enough. Just want to lose the arm fat now.
Completed Ab Ripper X as well with less pausing. One day maybe there will be no pausing :)
My Pyreness was my coach tonight. He really stinks as a coach :(
Day 69!
P90X. Legs and back done plus ab ripper, I think this is the hardest workout of the whole program.
I tried to keep up with the kids on Ab Ripper but that is just impossible!
Since I stopped doing the plyo workout my knees feel a lot better.
I am also trying the ol' chocolate milk recovery drink, Your right Luv, 4-1 ratio for carbs to protein and the carbs are sugar for fast recovery. $1.79 for 4 drinks = more $$ for Shakeology emoticon
Day 73
Completed my last shoulders and arms workout for this round! Did not want to do ab ripper x tonight but certainly did not want to slack off after all this time so I pushed play and ab ripped away! So glad I did.
I decided to buy a 2 ring binder and keep all my workout sheets and before, during and after pictures in it. This journey must be documented and remembered!
Day 90!
Have not posted my progress in a while but as you can see: I am aP90X Grad!!!!
Here are my progress pictures:
